Welcome to 3.0

Dear All,

Girder is extrodinarily proud to present www.SheffieldHockey.com Version 3.0

After months of work the website is finally "feature complete", representing the final milestone in development.

In probably the last major overhaul of the website, the forums have been fully integrated with the website, Fantasy Hockey is brought online, the Gallery gets an overhaul (to how it should have been first time round), the 2 individual Calendars become one, Member profiles are now open to all to view and are fully searchable and finally, the ability to archive any event, picture, member, match and news article has been added so that future years can enjoy a website uncluttered by old data, but former members can still see their data online

I hope that everyone enjoys using this site as much as I have enjoyed making it.

News Update

Greetings hockeyites,

Firstly, I'm very happy to say that the new website hasn't confused everyone and is full usable. If you've lost or forgotten your password from last year, please use the "lost password" feature before re-registering. You can find the lost password feature next to the search box in the top-right.

Secondly, Blowjob has got some FREE places on first aid courses for hockey players being held on Thursday November 16th between 1:30pm and 5pm. We need at least one player per team to be qualified next season, so go on, its FREE, looks great on a CV and you'd be helping the club.

Thirdly, Plug-in is reminding us all that the club needs money to supplement our alcohol intake and pay for all the "serious" stuff. There's a thread on the forums with details which can be found here

Finally, Leek has pointed me to a fantasy pike-ball league for Sheffield. Sounds no-where near as good as fantasy hockey but he's the lo-down anyway:

Welcome to version 3.0 of www.sheffieldhockey.com it's been a long time coming and it's about time you kids get to play with it.

See the post below for the major new features but primarily:
Unified login and integrated forums
New layout
More profile details and profile searching
Much improved gallery with facebook-esque features

At this stage there will be problems with the site. If it decides to fall over or you get a nice white screen with a message on it, please EMAIL ME with the message and the full URL (web address). This will allow me to fix problems much faster and everything will be stable within weeks.

I have also deleted a large number of people from the database. If you cannot log on please EMAIL ME with your login details and I'll sort you out.

As for missing features, fantasy hockey is still not functioning, the match system needs more testing and the back-end system needs tightening up but it's very nearly there. Over the next few weeks the website will enter maintainence mode whilst I fix problems. Please be patient whilst this goes on.

So, go on, start talking on the new forums, tell me what you think. Your feedback is essential and every email is read.
